My photo frames made with Linen Soft yarn are finished!! I say “photo frames” because it was an idea from the very beginning. But when I was done with the last embroidery hoop I suddenly decided to use them as just hanging decorations. Mostly because I am not sure at the moment how pictures can be attached to them. But maybe I will come up with something and share with you next week, together with a free pattern!
Update: Free pattern can be found HERE!
Lasted Tuesday I published a short tutorial HERE on how to crochet a base around the embroidery hoop. And during last week I was continuing to work with my new design truly enjoying Linen Soft yarn by Scheepjes. This doesn’t happen very often as I am quite conservative in choosing yarns but I like everything about it. If you missed my review, please read it HERE. And you can have a look at color chart and purchase this yarn via Scheepjes.com (NL), Deramores* or Wool Warehouse* (international shipping) and Paradise Fibers* (US).
I really like natural look and touch of this yarn, and I am quite happy with chosen colors, too. In my dream I was imagining these frames with an ombre effect. But as I am totally addicted to overlay crochet, I decided to place contrasting colors together. And as a result an ombre effect if somewhere far away from here, but I am still very satisfied with my new design.
I picked wooden embroidery hoops in three sizes and created three different patterns which I will share with you next week. They are very easy but at the same time they give an opportunity to practice overlay crochet once again.

Beautiful frames. The neutral colours look really effective.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to correct the headline to read Designs rather than Desings! Funny how we all do that from time to time.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious, how did you remove the tighteners on the hoops? I LOVE these colors!!
Thank you! I've corrected the headline :) Regarding your question I am not sure I understand what you mean... The hoops I used consist of two parts: ring and another ring with a tightener. I used only wooden rings to crochet around, but rings with tighteners can be put back - and then it will be easy to hang them on the wall.
Delete3 beautiful hoops, i really love that color combination and the look of that yarn, it looks just that bit more natural than cotton.
ReplyDeleteOh Tatsiana these are beautiful - and just what I need - I wonder if its possible to attach a cross stitch picture to them?
ReplyDeleteSo incredibly gorgeous! I'm itching to get started making one - three... :)
