Today is the day! Can you keep the secrets? For me it’s an unbelievably difficult task. But I have been keeping a secret for almost 8 months working very hard behind the scenes. And today I can finally tell you: new CAL is coming soon!!! I have been working on this new design since early January. Lots of frogging and remaking was involved, but I am very happy with the final results. A full reveal will be waiting for you in a week here on my blog (so stay tuned not to miss it). And today I will show you a few sneak peeks.
What will it be? It will be a wrap! A large, very soft and draping, cozy wrap made with two very different Scheepjes yarns: Spirit and Catona (reviewed HERE and HERE). Though I can’t take the full credit for this idea to mix two different yarns. When we were chatting with Esther of It’s All In A Nutshell a while ago I told her about my creative idea, and I also expressed my doubts about which yarn to choose.
We have discussed it and came to a conclusion that since it’s a large wearable project, a light weight yarn with good yardage should work best for it. And Esther said: “Maybe you should look into Spirit?” And then: “Oh, and you can actually combine it with Catona. That will give a nice mixture of textures”. And I made my choice at once.
I can’t tell you much about this project right now. Let’s save some excitement for later. But what I would like you to know is that coming CAL will be a true crochet adventure. I mixed several crochet techniques together, but still tried to keep the patterns easy enough, so that Advanced beginners can try them out.
The CAL will begin on October 18th , 2017 and will run for 9 weeks. It will be FREE and each part will be released on my blog weekly. The CAL will be translated into several languages. And there will be ready kits available for purchase - produced and nicely packed by Scheepjes. The kits will be sold by local Scheepjes store as well as large retailers including Wool Warehouse (HERE)* (located in UK with international shipping). The kits will be available for sale on September 27. But you can sign up at Wool Warehouse web-site now and they will notify you by e-mail when kits are live.
Excited?! I am excited SO MUCH!
But need to leave you now :) See you next week!
